The SR Foundation for Education and Research, is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting veterinary and human health education, training, and research in India. The Foundation aims to develop committed professionals in animal and human science who will become agents of economic and social
change.

Over 170 million rural Indians live in extreme poverty, relying on their livestock alone for survival. Another 70 percent of them are marginally poor, supplementing their incomes by raising livestock. Most of these people face insurmountable challenges due to poor animal health management skills and inadequate and not easily accessible veterinary health facilities. As India’s population rockets past 1.2 billion, animal husbandry skills and veterinary medicine are increasingly needed.
